Good evening and welcome to an enchanting journey through Cappadocia! Our adventure begins on Friday evening in Istanbul's lively Taksim Square, where we gather for an exciting weekend escapade. From there, we embark on an overnight bus transfer, traveling from Istanbul to the magical landscapes of Cappadocia.
Saturday:
Our first day in Cappadocia is packed with wonders. We kick off the morning with a visit to the Goreme Open Air Museum. This historical treasure, crafted by early Christians in the 11th century, reveals the mystique of cave monasteries and the deep-rooted history within its walls.
Next, we head to the panoramic viewpoint of Goreme, offering a refreshing break and a breathtaking panorama of the Cappadocia Touristic Region. Our journey continues to the Monk's Valley (Pasabag), renowned for its surreal landscape and the finest assortment of fairy chimneys in the region. This natural wonderland captivates the imagination and provides a serene escape for all visitors.
After a delightful local lunch, we venture into the Devrent (Imagination) Valley, famous for its red lunar landscape and uniquely shaped rock formations, including captivating animal figures sculpted by nature's forces. The day concludes with a visit to the charming Avanos Town, situated on the banks of the Red River (Kızılırmak). Avanos is a cultural hub celebrated for its pottery, silk, wool, carpet weaving, and agricultural traditions—a testament to the town's rich history.
As the day comes to an end, we return to the hotel, reflecting on the natural and human-made masterpieces that have left an indelible mark on our Cappadocian journey.
Sunday:
Our second day unfolds with optional adventures, allowing you to tailor your experience. You may choose to soar above Cappadocia's stunning landscapes with a hot air balloon ride or delve into the underground mysteries of Derinkuyu, exploring the depths of an ancient subterranean city.
We then visit Selime Monastery and traverse the breathtaking Ihlara Valley, a canyon adorned with striking rock formations and ancient cave dwellings. As the day draws to a close, we bid farewell to Cappadocia, embarking on an evening bus transfer back to Istanbul.
