Itinerary
Delve deep into the significant landmarks of Guangzhou with your very own personal guide. On this private tour, uncover the city's history as you visit the Tomb of the Nanyue King, the Chen Chan Ancestral Hall, and nearby Shamian Island.
In the morning, set out with your guide from your hotel, and take a private car to the Museum of the Tomb of the Nanyue King. Excavated in 1983, this tomb dates back to the Western Han period and reveals the 2,200-year-long history of Guangzhou. Tour the exhibition hall, which houses a wealth of relics excavated from the tomb and the city itself. Then you will move to visit the Yuexiu Park where there is a landmark of Guangzhou, Five-Ram Statue.
Your next stop is the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, an academic temple built during the Qing Dynasty by the 72 Chen clans to house clansmen preparing for their imperial examinations. As you explore the complex, discover traditional Canton architecture, and get a close look at the rich carvings, pottery, and engravings that adorn nearly every square inch. Afterwards you will head for Guangxiao Temple that is one of the biggest temple near Beijing Road. If you are interested in shopping, you can wander around Beijing Road for a while.
Continue on to Shamian Island, a former British and French colony that dates back a century. After time to wander among the European-style buildings, head to a local restaurant for a lunch of tasty Cantonese dim sum. Once you've refueled, pay a visit to the impressive Canton Tower, entrance for Canton Tower sightseeing floor is included. You can admire the 1,969-foot (600-m) skyscraper from the surrounding square, or opt to take a trip to the top for incredible views over Guangzhou. Afterward, end your day with a convenient ride back to your hotel.
