­­­­­­­­Nassau Downtown/Bay Street:

It is the central of the island of New Providence. It is the busiest here you find many tourist attractions high-end jewellery stores and restaurants, gift shops and the Bahamas Parliament building.

• At the left of us is the bust of our late 2nd Governor General Sir Milo Butler. The Governor General is the representative of the British monarchs.
• Rawson Square is the gateway to the city of cruise ship passengers. It’s named after Sir Rawson W Rawson who was governor of the Bahamas.
• The Bahamian Parliament building is home to the Bahamas Parliament constructed in 1815. You’ll see many of our members elect to do the day-to-day business of running the country & government.
• A statue of the late Queen Victoria.
•  As we move, Bay Street or Downtown is the busiest area here you’ll find lots of shopping and lots of sightseeing as you drive or walk up and down the strip with high-end stores, tourist gift shops, and government offices.
• Here at our first stop is at the Rum Cake Factory, where you can indulge in a sweet treat and a drink, aptly named the Rum Cake.
• At the right of us, you'll see our first Bahamian-owned bank Commonwealth Bank.
• To the left is the Sydney Poitier Bridge. It is the first Bahamian Academy Award winner for Best Actor in the film Lilies of the Field (1963).
• Paradise Island is connected to New Providence by two bridges first being built in 1966 & second in 1998.
• Across the bridge, you’ll find the Atlantis resort purchased in 1994 by Sol Kerzner who created the Atlantis over the course of 13 years spending 800 million dollars. The Atlantis consists of 5 towers Reef Cove Royal Coral Beach marinas, Villas Water Park, Casino Highend Clubbing, dining, and a huge Aquarium.
• The beach tower was recently closed and will be reopened under American musician Pharrell Williams and David Grutman Groot's hospitality in 2024. Named the Somewhere Else resort.
• Prince George Wharf currently referred to by locals as under the dock is the lifeline to our 700 islands and 2,400 cays here is where cargo goods or exchanged between the islands by boats and some good ole Bahamian dishes such as conch salad conch fritters.
• Montagu where you can find fresh seafood and home of our first man-made beach and one of our three forts that were used to defend Nassau was the only fort to see action in 1741 the foundation stone was laid by Peter Henry Bruce and completed in 1742.
• Stop by Sky Juice and do the conch show.
• Shirley Street is another busy heart line of our country here you’ll find the Chinese embassy financial companies, banks, insurance, healthcare, Supreme Court, and the newly being built 310 million dollar US embassy.
• The Queen's Staircase, commonly referred to as the 66 steps, is located in the Fort Fincastle Historic Complex. It was carved out of solid limestone rock by slaves between 1793 and 1794 and it provided a direct route from Fort Fincastle to Nassau City. These steps were later named in honor of Queen Victoria, who reigned in Britain for 64 years from 1837 to 1901.
• 2nd Fort Fincastle that was built in 1793 by Lord Dunmore to protect Nassau from pirates.
• The lighthouse was used to direct ships into Nassau harbor.
• Bank of the Bahamas is our only government-owned bank.
• The Central Bank Est on 1 June 1974. Its job is to carry out the independent monetary policy and supervision of our financial sector.
• Government House the residence of the Governor General construction started in 1803 and was completed in 1806.
• Grey Cliff is the first five-star restaurant in the Caribbean. Located in an 18th-century mansion it has a cigar rolling workshop, chocolate factory, and restaurant, it also has one of the world’s largest private wine cellars home to over 275,000 bottles the cellar is located under the ground we are riding on.
• The National Art Gallery Est in 1996 it’s home to Bahamas art and historical artefacts.
• Next up is what we call the over the hill area where lots of locals reside where the house and properties are $50,000 and below.
• Magistrate Court where cases are heard and also take place.
• Our first Prime Minister we call him the father of our nation grave is located to the left of us where The Bahamas flag is being flown.
• Our next stop will be Tasty Teas they say they have a tea that can cure anything. Idk let’s find out.
• John Watling Distillery where they make high-quality spirits opened in 2003.
• Here is our Junkanoo beach where you kick back chill drink water sports lots of fun goes on.
• 3rd and The last fort our Fort Charlotte largest of the 3 forts built on 100 acres in 1788 by Lord Dunmore the fort was named after King George III's wife Queen Saharia Charlotte. The fort has dungeons underground passageways and 42 cannons which were never fired.
• The Fish Fry is where you can eat a variety of Bahamian dishes.
• Office of the Prime Minister of the Bahamas.
• Good Man’s Bay is next to one of our beaches popular with the locals.
• We are now headed onto our Cable Beach strip home to many hotels resorts condos fine dining high-end shopping.
• And the jewel of our cable beach strip the Bahamar Resort. Bahamar is a 1000-acre resort comprised of 3 hotels Grand Hyatt, SLS, and the Rosewood with a total of 2,200 rooms,284 private residences, 100,000 square feet of casino, and a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus and a recently added water park the property boast a cause of 4.2 billion dollars and was opened 8 years now.
