• Identified in 1997, this 90 million cu meter–sinkhole is one of the largest of its kind in the world. 
• Elliptical in shape, it has a depth of 250m and is part of a vast limestone complex deep in the hills above the Salalah Plain.
• You can reach the bottom of the sinkhole via a steep path from the southern side, but if you approach the sinkhole from the main road, there is no way to reach the bottom other than abseiling from the edge.
• The start of the trail is a 20-minute drive from SAMA Jabal Samhan Hotel.
