The history of the city develops over the centuries, becoming the protagonist of its maximum splendor in the '400, the century in which
it is formed as a fundamental maritime and exchange center of the lower Adriatic and houses an arsenal of the Serenissima Republic of Venice.
Along a consistent time span, which extends from the Middle Ages
until the 1700s, many noble palaces rose within the city limits, which have always contributed to enhancing its already appreciable heritage.
