Day 01 – Airport to Kitulgala
After breakfast leave for Kitulgala
En route visit the Salgala Monastic Complex – located in a low country patch of rain forest to see the meditating monks – but not to disturb them or engage in conversations unless invited by them. Proceed to Kitulgala – became famous as it was the location for David Lean’s Academy Award winning film “Bridge on the River Kwai”
Take part in a session of White Water River Rafting along the Kelani River, 2nd longest in the island.

Day 02 - Kitulgala
After breakfast visit the “Belilena “- Pre historic cave where historical evidence has been found and confirmed of the earliest human beings that lived in this island dating back to 30,000 years. Undertake a transfer by catamaran rafts to the other side of the river to take part in an interesting hike through paddy fields, a Jungle and remote villages during which we will see Toddy Tapping. (Toddy is an alcoholic beverage extracted from the sap of the coconut flower which if left to mature will turn out to be Vinegar and go on to gives us Juggery – a sweetner) Enjoy a lunch prepared by a local family in the Kamatha (The special place at the edge of the Paddy Fields lefty for the stocking and subsequent threshing of the paddy) Overnight stay at Kitulgala
Day 03 - Kitulgala to Adam’s Peak
After breakfast return to the main road using a Suspension bridge to cross the river
Proceed to Laxapana
Engage in a hike on the foothills of the Seven Virgins Mountain Range where some years back an Icelandic Airliner from Indonesia crashed with Moslem devotees returning after pilgrimage to Mecca killing all on board in the vicinity of the Laxapana Water Falls which provides water to one of Sri Lanka’s premier hydral reservoirs. Enjoy seeing the village ladies preparing the Juggery out of Toddy in their homes as a cottage industry.
Transfer to the base of the Adam’s Peak
Overnight stay at Dalhousie
Day 04 - Adam’s Peak to Bandarawela
Leave for the ascend to the Adam’s Peak at 2.00 am.
Enjoy the ascend to reach the summit of the Holy Mountain.
Witness the “Sun rise”
Return for a late breakfast.
Refresh and leave for Bandarawela
Overnight stay at Bandarawela
Day 05 - Bandarawela to Belihuloya
After breakfast transfer to the Railway Station to travel by train to Idalgashinna.
Start mountain trekking through Tea Plantations, Jungles, grasslands and a patch of rainforest etc to reach Colombo – Badulla highway and pickup transfer by vehicle.
Take part in a cooking demonstration
Overnight stay at Belihuloya
Day 06 - Belihuloya to Ratnapura
After breakfast leave for Ratnapura – “The City of Gems”
En route undertake a Jeep Safari of the Uda Walawe National Park mainly to see wild elephants and the Elephant Transit Home where babies are being looked after to be subsequently sent back in to the jungles .This is a great effort for conservation of this giant species.
Also visit the Sankapala Ancient Buddhist Temple, first constructed in memory of Therapuththabhaya, one of the ten giants of the Great King – Dutugemunu in the Anuradhapura period and the Maha Saman Devalaya, the Temple devoted to God Saman which is supposed to be the Guardian God for this area including the Holy Mountain – Adam’s Peak.
In Ratnapura visit the places of interest of the Gem Industry in Sri Lanka including Gem Mines to get an insight in to this important segment of the local economy.

Day 07 - Ratnapura to Anguruwatota
After breakfast transfer to the starting point for Canoeing
Orientation and Briefing Session
Start Canoeing down Kalu Ganga, one of the four major rivers in Sri Lanka, apart from the activity enjoy seeing lots of life style of locals along the route including Sand Mining, illegal Hem Mining, Illicit liquor brewing etc.
Overnight stay at Anguruwatota
Day 08 - Anguruwatota / Bentota
After breakfast start Biking towards Bentota passing small townships, villages through Tea /Rubber / Coconut /Cinnamon Plantations, Home Gardens etc.
Also visit Galapatha Rajamaha Viharaya – belonging to the early periods of Sri Lankan history which was the depository for the relics of Great Arahath.
In the evening take part in a “Meditation Session“
Overnight stay at Bentota
Day 09 - Bentota
Engage in Water Sports at the Water Sports Centre using a “FUN CARD” (Each person will be given a card which will entitle him / her for a selected number of activities .However this card is neither transferable nor will entitle the person for refunds for any unused activities)
Relax
Overnight stay at Bentota
Day 10 - Bentota to Airport
Transfer to the airport for the departure.
