This full day tour will involve you in some activities. The time in each activity can be flexible as your request as long as it doesn’t affect the whole plan.
From 8.30 am to 9.00 am, you will be greeted and picked up at your hotel’s lobby by an English speaking tour guide.
Your first destination is the Elephant Village Camp. Once you arrive there, you will be welcomed by the camp manager. He will deliver a short introduction about elephant. You will be impressed at interesting information about elephants, a symbol of Laos which is commonly known as land of a Million Elephants (Lane Xang).
After that, you will enjoy an impressive experience of riding the elephant. You will be on the howdah (elephant seat) or on the elephant’s neck. 2 people are arranged to be on 1 elephant. You will ride the elephant about 3 kilometers. It must be a fascinating experience to enjoy the beautiful landscape on an elephant’s back.
Then, you will take a 4 km trek through diverse beautiful natural landscape. You will travel from the “old camp” to the “jungle camp” through teak forests, local farms and primary jungle. Finish the trekking journey, you will stop and have lunch by the jungle with a picnic lunch box prepared at the camp restaurant and served with coffee/tea and drinking water (vegetarian options are available).
After having lunch and a short rest, you continue trekking along a crystal clear stream flowing down from the mountains. This trail is common called “Trail of Falls”. Along this stunning trail, you will see many natural pools surrounded by unique tropical vegetation. They are formed by water falling over multilevel limestone.
At the end you the Trail of Falls, you reach the impressive Tad Sae Waterfall. This is a perfect place for you to relax after a long trekking journey. You can dip your feet in the pools or have a refreshing swimming before going back to the Elephant Camp.
At around 3.00 pm or 4.00 pm you will be driven back to your hotel in Luang Prabang. The tour ends.
