Leaving Zadar our first stop will be the Royal Vineyards.
On the picturesque hills above the coastal villages of Petrčane and Punta Skala, the vineyards were erected in the extreme conditions, on the rocky soil with an optimum slope towards southwest and with constant circulation of air from the sea and from the nearby Velebit mountain. Top quality grapes from the stone vineyards and excellent taste of wines are results of a special microclimate, its position by the sea and a full day of direct sun exposure, on average 2600 hours per year. Petrčane is in unique harmony with nature, with impressive landscape colors of green vineyards, blue sky, hot sun and clear blue sea. The view from the vineyards is overlooking the city of Zadar, the islands of the Zadar archipelago and Velebit.
Our next stop is a small town of Nin. On a small island in the middle of a shallow lagoon the town of Nin can be found with its old centre, connected to the mainland by two stone bridges. Nin has had an exciting past and has a lovely present today. All its stories beauty and natural wealth are here to be enjoyed and to provide joy, health and spiritual satisfaction which are so much needed today.
At the Nin saltworks the salt is not produced by the machines. It is not produced by the man either. The salt is produced by the sun, sea and wind. The salt from Nin is ecological, therapeutic and biodynamic. Its production, besides people, includes diverse wildlife, plenty of beaches and healing mud.
Our next and final stop is the city of Zadar.
