The walking tour will start at our office in San Telmo. We will take Defensa St. to the very heart of San Telmo: One of the oldest barrios in Buenos Aires. This lively area boasts a vibrant tango and artistic scene. The antiques markets, street lanterns (known locally as faroles), cobbled streets, old-fashioned buildings and original décor give the place its unique bohemian atmosphere. Sundays are the busiest days as the famous street market come to life in Plaza Dorrego.
Then, our tour will move south to La Boca neighbourhood, home to the Boca Juniors stadium and the vibrant "Caminito" street. Coming back downtown Buenos Aires by bus, on board we will enjoy the views of Puerto Madero modern architecture until we reach "Puente de la Mujer" (woman's bridge), famous for its shape that represents a couple dancing Tango. We will cross the bridge towards Plaza de Mayo, Buenos Aires main square and the political heartland of Argentina and we will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Cabildo (the Colonial Town Hall) and Casa Rosada, the Pink Presidential Headquarters Office.
After, we will reach the Obelisco, a monument which is itself a symbol of Buenos Aires. A bus will take you to the elegant Recoleta area, known for the impressive Recoleta Cemetery. You will find beautiful architecture, lots of museums, chic cafes and restaurants, exclusive streets and shopping centres. The tour comes to a close at the Recoleta Cemetery. You have the option to enter the place and wander around the beautiful lanes to Evita Peron's resting place. (The order of the attractions to visit can be modified at the discretion of the guide).
On the other hand, at night, between 8 and 8:30 PM, we will pick you up at your hotel to enjoy a beautiful dinner accompanied by an unforgettable Tango Show. The event will take place in El Querandí: one of the most popular Tanguerías in the neighborhood of San Telmo. You will taste a gourmet three-course dinner with a wide selection of typical dishes and regional wines and then, you will be part of the incredible show, which reviews the History of Tango with different dance partners and singers.
At the end, around midnight, you will be returned to your hotel.
