Just 18 kilometres from Wat Doi Suthep into the mountains of Doi Suthep Pui National Park, is a White Meo Hilltribe. It is a relatively unspoiled hilltribe village which has not seen the affects of tourism enter daily life. In fact, to better negotiate the narrow, mountainous, dirt road a local Songteow has to be used to get you there. (The Songteow is a common method of transport in Thailand, used as a means of public transportation in many parts of the country. Basically it is just a covered, open-air Pick-Up with a row of seats stretching down both sides of the vehicle.).
