Departing from your hotel in Chiang Mai around 9.00am., a stop will be made at a local market along the way. Here you will have a chance to buy ingredients to do some cooking at the village for dinner.
You will be welcomed by a local villager and taken for a very interesting look around, including their lovely views of the beautiful scenery below. The village is 1,300 meters above sea level with an average temperature of 10-18 C throughout the year. Whilst it is certainly very different to the usual images of Thailand's beaches and tropical climate it is none the less part of Thailand's landscape and absolutely one that any visitor should go to see.
Upon arrival you will walk through the community forest, where the villagers grow tea and coffee, to see how they keep live in harmony with nature. It is a good example for our dearly loved Late King’s self-sufficient economy theory.
A picnic lunch will be provided at a waterfall.
After lunch you will return to the village to relax with a one hour Thai traditional massage. Then walk around the village to witness the fermented tea leaves process and see some local, handmade products.
A great experience follows, as you will join some local people, in their home, to prepare and cook your dinner.
The drive back to your Chiang Mai hotel will have you back at about 7.30pm. Return to Chiang Mai, arriving back at your hotel
at about 7.30pm.
