Then, change to the bus and drive to Wieliczka - a small town near Krakow, where one of the largest ancient salt mines in Europe (700 years) is located. The depth of the mine is 340 meters, the total length of the corridors and tunnels is over 245 kilometers.
The tourist route is over 3 km long and includes over 20 halls, underground lakes, a multitude of corridors and buildings, including the largest and one of a kind Church of St. Kinga - the patron saint of miners. The underground church is richly decorated with chandeliers, carvings and statues of saints carved out of salt. There is a specific healing microclimate in the mine, and there is a sanatorium at a depth of 135 m.
