Your route takes you through Kent, known as the Garden of England and on to Canterbury with its fine Norman Cathedral, before a visit to Dover with its white cliffs and castle. In the afternoon you will visit Leeds Castle, arguably the most beautiful castle in England. It was built in the middle of a lake and was home to the medieval Queens of England. After this, time permitting there are many sites available in the area including Chartwell, home of Sir Winston Churchill for over 49 years and Knole, one of the largest private houses in England, with it’s famous collection of 17th and 18th century furniture
The 500 acres of parkland at Leeds Castle include a swirling yew maze, the famous water cascade and the Wood Garden, vivid with daffodils and narcissi in the spring.
