Kazimierz - the oldest district of Krakow, once a separate city, located behind the no longer existing branch of the Vistula River. A place of coexistence and interpenetration of two cultures - Christian and Jewish.
See over 20 monuments, visit the beautiful, picturesque streets of Kazimierz and learn about the history of its inhabitants. It is one of the most important attractions of the city, it is here that the cultural life of modern residents and tourists takes place.
The streets of the former Jewish ghetto, which existed in the Podgórze district during the war, still contain traces of those terrible events. See a fragment of the undamaged wall around the ghetto, houses where thousands of displaced Jews lived, the historic pharmacy "Pod Orłem" and a monument with many chairs at the Ghetto Heroes Square
