This half day tour lasts 5 hours with the departure time of 8.30 am. It will take you to some destinations. The time in each destination can be flexible as your request as long as it doesn’t affect the whole plan.
At 8.30 am, you will be greeted and picked up at your hotel’s lobby by an English speaking guide and a driver.
Then, you will be driven to the first destination of the tour, the famous ancient temple, Wat Xieng Thong. This temple is regarded as the symbol for architecture in this ancient capital. This Buddhist temple is widely known as the ‘Golden Tree Monastery’ and acts as a gateway to Luang Prabang because it is strategically situated close to where the Mekong joins the Nam Khan River. Coming here, you can enjoy the unique in its architectural style with over 20 structures on the grounds including a sim, shrines, pavilions and residences, in addition to its gardens of various flowers, ornamental shrubs and trees.
At 9.30 am, you will take a boat ride along the mighty Mekong River to the famous Pak Ou Cave. Along the way, you can enjoy the scenic landscape of riverside village and enjoy the fresh atmosphere in the morning. Coming to the Pak Ou Cave, you will be impressed by thousands of Buddha statues in different kinds of shapes and sizes.
At 11.30 am, you will stop by a lovely bamboo cottage to have lunch and a short rest.
After about 1 hour, you will head back to Luang Prabang city. On the way there, you will pay a visit to 2 traditional villages. They are Ban Xhang Hai village which is widely known for making local rice-whisky and Ban Pha Nom, a weaving village where Thai Lu people are living.
At 1.30 pm, you will be driven back to Luang Prabang city. The tour ends when you arrive at your hotel.
