The first Palais des Festivals et des Congrès was built in 1949 to host the Cannes Film Festival. The original building was located on the boulevard of Promenade de la Croisette on the present site of the JW Marriott Cannes. That building hosted the 4th and 6th Eurovision Song Contests in 1959 and 1961.In response to the growing success of the Film Festival and the advent of the first business conventions, such as the MIPTV Media Market since 1965, the City of Cannes decided to build a new Palais in 1979. The new building, a six-story building designed in the Modernist style by the architects Sir Hubert Bennett and François Drue was constructed on the site of the municipal Casino. It opened in December 1982 and was expanded in 1999 with the construction of the Espace Riviera, a new space of 10,000 square meters.

Promenade des Anglais in Nice is the most important attraction in the city. It stretches for seven kilometers and provides an uninterrupted view of the azure sea and palm trees. In Nice, we call it the Prom but its full name is the Promenade des Anglais (Walkway of the English). Its name comes from the English aristocrats who came to Nice in the 18th century to enjoy the health benefits of the local climate. At that time, the shoreline was not so regular, and because the lords and their wives wanted to walk comfortably, a seaside promenade was built (with the hands and finances of the English people). The English names of the hotels, such as Westminster and West End, still bear witness to the influence of the islanders on this place.Today’s promenade is not only a popular place for walks, but also for sports. A bike path runs throughout its entire length, and every now and then you can run into runners, roller skaters, or other sports enthusiasts.

We will go for an orientation tour of Antibes for one hour approx. The ancient walled town of Antibes is one of the liveliest and prettiest on the Riviera with its relaxed beachy feel, thriving superyacht port and gorgeous old town of narrow cobbled streets, markets and cafes. Famous for being home to the Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, Antibes certainly saw its fair share of glitz, glamour and a touch of the avant-garde through the 20th century.
Of all the seaside towns of the Riviera, Antibes is probably the most instantly recognisable thanks to its iconic Skyline.
Lying to the east of Cannes, Antibes offers a calmer, more traditional vibe. Its old centre is a warren of pretty cafes and bars, ice cream shops and boutiques, with the busy Provençal market at the top of the town. On the far side of Antibes, golden sandy beaches looked over by modern apartment blocks curve around to the famous Cap d'Antibes, where the gated villas of oligarchs sit along the rocky coast.

Port Grimaud is one of the most famous coastal towns in the world, but it’s only been in existence for around fifty years. A colorful port, nicknamed ‘The Little Venice of Provence’ and endorsed as a 20th Century Heritage site – it’s a place full of surprises.
Port Grimaud was brought to life on the French Riviera, and while its canals will no doubt remind you of the Floating City, it’s a project firmly rooted in Provence, as conceived by its architect, François Spoerry.

Port de Saint Tropez is located in the homonymous town south of the Saint-Tropez Gulf. It is one of the best marina reservation choices on the French Riviera.
Port de Saint Tropez is full of life in the summer when vessels of all sizes moor here. Once, it was a modest harbor for small fishing boats.
However, today, Marina de Saint Tropez has evolved into one of the most modern places to drop anchor. It is a famous gathering point for international sailors looking for VIP treatment. The landmark that will help you get here is the red lighthouse.
Nearby, you will find top tourist services such as restaurants, cafés and 5-star accommodation options. Moreover, the surrounding area is a perfect place for a quiet stroll along the shore.

In the 1920s the town attracted some famous French characters, including haute couture superstar Coco Chanel. Later in 1950 it gained an international popularity: director Roger Vadim shot And God Created Woman featuring one of the sex symbols of that time — Brigitte Bardot. Since then it has been a hot destination for the rich and famous. But, these days, the town has plenty for everyone.Today, the jet set considers St Trop’ as the place to be. But apart from the all the glitter, this Provençal city is a quiet sunny place.
