Elephant experience and trekking to villages and waterfalls
August to January (high water season)
You will begin your soft adventure day around 8:00 am from Luang Prabang with a short drive of 20 minutes to get out of town and catch a close glimpse into the Lao countryside.
You will be taken straight to the elephant camp for the first part of today’s activities by your knowledgeable and experienced local guide, which is situated in the center of a wonderful forested mountainous region at the banks of the picturesque Nam Khan River. Here, you can admire a different perspective from riding on the back of an elephant as well as enjoy exceptional landscapes and the tranquility of nature making for a relaxing ride on the back of a local Asian elephant.
Then, you will be transferred to begin trekking by small boat across the river. This is not a challenging hike through spectacular jungle with surrounding mountains in the marvelous river valley.
After that, you will arrive at a Khmu hill tribe village nestled at the foot of a big mountain range where you can discover life nestled in the mountains with the help of your tourist guide. Farmers and fishermen subsisting on their traditional way of agriculture are the majority here.
And before a scenic and easy walk off the mountain to the Tad Sae Waterfall, you will have a short break. Once coming to the waterfall, you can relax yourself with some interesting activities such as swimming and bathing in the refreshing cool water.
Next, you will be served Lao style Lunch at the stunning waterfalls or at a local village.
Afterwards, you will return by boat and vehicle to conclude your Laos elephant and lush jungle adventure.
