Depending on the time of year, this excursion starts in Puerto Madryn between 07:30 and 8:30 AM and returns around 6:00 PM. It is a 380 km land route. As a first stop we will visit the Istmo C. Ameghino Interpretation Center where we will see an exhibition on flora, fauna and geology. During this trip we expand on the interpretation of the terrestrial ecosystem that is explained by the specialized guides.
We will continue towards Puerto Pirámides, a tourist village from where the boats set sail for whale watching from June to December and nautical walks in summer. There will be free time for lunch in “Quimen Quipan”. Then the tour will continue to Caleta Valdes, an interesting geographic accident and settlement of the southern elephant seals. Depending on the time of year, we will observe wolves, sea elephants and Magellanic penguins from September onwards, in addition to enjoying a unique landscape given by this incredible geological formation. As we return to Puerto Madryn, we will see the Great and the Small Salt Lakes and Birds Island which has various marine birds in the area. In the outskirts you will also find the replica of the San Jose Fort Chapel.
