Day 1 – Mexico City
Once you arrive to Mexico City’s International Airport you will be transferred to the hotel located downtown, near the Zocalo Square. In the afternoon since there aren’t any activities scheduled you can enjoy a walk around the area.
Day 2 – Mexico City - Teotihuacan - Guadalupe Shrine - City tour
On the second day we will depart to the archeological site of Teotihuacan where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the area from the top of the pyramids. Later discover the world famous Guadalupe Shrine. Its complete name is Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and is a Roman Catholic church,located in the north of Mexico City. The shrine was built near the hill of Tepeyac where Our Lady of Guadalupe is believed to have appeared to Saint Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. This site is the most visited Catholic religious site on Earth, after Vaticano.
In the afternoon enjoy a city tour visiting the National Palace, Zocalo Square and Metropolitan Cathedral, as well as the Anthropology Museum.
Day 3 – Mexico City – Taxco - Puebla
After having breakfast at the hotel you will depart to Taxco, Guerrero; : known as the Silver City, Taxco became one of the most important mining areas in the empire of New Spain. Day 4 – Puebla - Cholula - Oaxaca
Join a city tour in the morning; taking in the baroque Cathedral, the main square located downtown and the church of Santo Domingo. The colonial architecture of Puebla is defined by its heavy use of ornamental tiles called Talavera. That makes its buildings more colorful than most of their contemporaries in other parts of Mexico.
Continue on to the city of Oaxaca, where accommodation will be in a downtown hotel.
Day 5 – Oaxaca - Monte Alban – Mitla - Oaxaca
On the fifth day prepare yourself to enjoy a guided tour of the city, visiting the Cathedral, the fountain of the seven regions, Santo Domingo Church and the “Gold’s Museum“. Later continue the tour by the archaeological sites of Monte Alban and Mitla. In the afternoon you will be transferred back to the hotel, and you’ll have time at leisure to walk around the city.
Day 6 – Oaxaca – Tuxtla - Sumidero Canyon - San Cristobal de las Casas
Transfer to the airport of Oaxaca and departure with domestic flight to Tuxtla Gutierrez. On arrival you’ll enjoy a guided tour visiting the Sumidero Canyon, a protected area at the Federal level since 1980, is a magnificent geological landscape located in central depression of the State. Here, granite cliffs and walls with a height of over a thousand meters surround the cause of the Grijalva River.
Later we’ll discover a small village in Chapa de Corzo where you will learn more about the Mayan culture. In the afternoon we will continue on to San Cristobal de las Casas to check- in at the hotel located downtown.
Day 7 – San Cristobal - Zinacatan and Chamula - San Cristobal
After breakfast at the hotel, join a city tour in San Cristobal de las Casas, visiting the Santo Domingo church and a typical local market. Later on discover the native community of Zinacatan and San Juan Chamula.
Day 8 – San Cristobal - Agua Azul Falls - Palenque
Early in the morning you will depart to the spectacular Agua Azul falls, (Spanish for “Blue Water Waterfall”) are found near the Municipality of Tumbalá, in the middle of the Chiapas rainforest. It consists of many cataracts following one after another in the Cascadas de Agua Azul Natural Park. The larger cataracts may be about 6 meters (20 ft.) high.
Later on we will continue our way to Palenque for accommodations.
Day 9 – Palenque - Campeche
On the ninth day you will be amazed with the famous archeological site of Palenque. Here you’ll be confronted by the largest Mesoamerican step pyramid, the Temple of Inscriptions, spotted with hieroglyphics that have contributed significantly to the study of Mayan civilization. Later on we will depart to Campeche to the hotel located downtown.
Day 10 – Campeche – Kabah and Uxmal - Merida
After having breakfast at the hotel you will enjoy a guided city tour in Campeche visiting the city’s key places to discover more about their history. Later on you will be transferred to the archeological sites of Uxmal and Kabah. Continue to Merida in the afternoon for hotel accommodations.
Day 11 – Merida - Chichen Itza - Playa del Carmen
On the last day prepare yourself to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World: Chichen Itza. Absolutely the most visited archaeological site in the peninsula of Yucatan, due to its extraordinary architecture beauty and its geographical location, Chichen Itza was one of the greatest Mayan centers of the Yucatán peninsula. The fusion of mayan centers construction techniques with new elements from central Mexico make Chichen Itza one of the most important examples of the Mayan – Toltec civilization in Yucatan. Several buildings have survived, such as the Warriors’ Temple “El Castillo” and the circular observatory known as “El Caracol”
Later you will be departing to Playa del Carmen to the hotel of your preference.
